The Affordable Care Act has had an impact on the healthcare world in many ways. With these new laws in place we will see people with pre-existing conditions get the insurance they need while others with individual policies possibly paying more for their coverage.
All segments of the health care industry will be affected by these changes. Physical Therapy for example, will be in high demand. In return, they will have to work more efficiently, be more productive but still uphold the quality of care.Physical Therapy is an essential service for patients. As participants in the health care delivery system, physical therapists assume leadership roles in rehabilitation, prevention, health maintenance and programs that promote health, wellness and fitness. These therapists are also active in professional and community organizations.
From a practical standpoint, physical therapist will need to adopt technologies that improve efficiency and speed up workflow as they experience an increase of patients. These technologies allow for physical therapists to provide quality care while saving time spent on administrative work (time that could and should be spent treating more patients).
One thing is for certain, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists will continue to see a big demand for their services in the coming years.
